Akashic Records

Alignment
A state of balance and harmony between mind, body, spirit, and the universe. In metaphysical practice, alignment often refers to living in tune with one’s higher self.
Aura
An energy field that surrounds every living being. Practitioners describe it as having colors that reflect mood, health, or spiritual state. Aura readings and photography are common in metaphysical studios.
Breathwork
A practice that uses conscious breathing techniques to release emotional blockages, reduce stress, and expand awareness. Breathwork can support healing, spiritual awakening, and deeper connection to the self. Different styles include holotropic breathwork, rebirthing, and pranayama.
Chakras
Energy centers in the body that influence physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. There are seven main chakras:
- Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Base of the spine; grounding, stability, survival. Color: red.
- Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Lower abdomen; creativity, sexuality, emotions. Color: orange.
- Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Upper abdomen; personal power, confidence, self-esteem. Color: yellow.
- Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Chest center; love, compassion, relationships. Color: green or pink.
- Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Throat; communication, truth, self-expression. Color: blue.
- Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Between eyebrows; intuition, insight, wisdom. Color: indigo.
- Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Top of head; enlightenment, spiritual connection. Color: violet or white.
Channeling
Receiving messages or energy from spiritual beings, higher consciousness, or universal sources. Channelers often act as conduits for wisdom, healing, or spiritual teachings.
Clairvoyance
The intuitive ability to see beyond the physical world, often involving visions or symbolic imagery. Related terms include clairaudience (hearing) and clairsentience (feeling).
Crystals
Natural stones believed to carry energetic properties that can influence healing, protection, and manifestation. Each crystal type (amethyst, rose quartz, obsidian, etc.) has unique metaphysical associations.
Divination
The practice of seeking insight or guidance from spiritual or intuitive tools, such as tarot, runes, pendulums, or astrology charts.
Energy Blockages (processing)
Obstacles to the natural flow of energy within the body or aura. Chakras represent distinct parts of our lives. When there is a challenge, it shows up energetically.
Energy Healing
A holistic practice aimed at restoring balance to a person’s energetic body. Modalities include Reiki, pranic healing, and sound therapy.
Grounding
A practice to connect with the Earth’s energy, helping bring stability and calm. Techniques include visualization, walking barefoot, or holding grounding stones like hematite.
Intuition
An inner knowing or gut feeling that guides decisions and perceptions beyond logical reasoning. Considered a core tool in metaphysical and spiritual work.
Law of Attraction
A belief that thoughts and energy attract similar experiences into one’s life. Often tied to manifestation practices such as affirmations and vision boards.
Meditation
A focused practice of quieting the mind to achieve relaxation, spiritual connection, or higher awareness. Many metaphysical studios offer guided meditations.
Mediumship
The practice of communicating with spirits of the deceased. Mediums may deliver messages of comfort, guidance, or validation from loved ones who have passed.
Oracle Cards
Similar to tarot but often more freeform, oracle cards provide intuitive messages, affirmations, or spiritual themes that guide reflection and personal growth.
Past Life Regression
A guided experience (often through hypnosis) where individuals access memories of previous lifetimes for healing or self-understanding.
Pendulum
A tool used in divination and energy clearing. Often a weighted object on a chain or string, pendulums can answer yes/no questions or detect energetic imbalances.
Reiki
A Japanese healing technique based on channeling universal life force energy to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Practitioners place their hands lightly on or above the body to guide energy flow. Reiki is often used to balance chakras, release emotional blockages, and restore harmony between mind, body, and spirit.
Sacred Geometry
Patterns and shapes (such as the Flower of Life or Metatron’s Cube) believed to hold universal meaning and connect to creation and higher consciousness.
Scrying
Looking into reflective surfaces such as crystal balls, mirrors, or water to receive visions, symbols, or guidance. A traditional form of divination used in many cultures.
Smudging
A cleansing ritual using smoke from sacred plants such as sage, palo santo, or cedar to clear negative energy from people, places, or objects.
Spirit Guides
Beings believed to offer guidance, support, and protection from beyond. They may appear as ancestors, animal spirits, or higher beings that assist with life’s path.
Synchronicity
Meaningful coincidences that seem guided by spiritual or universal forces. Often viewed as signs or guidance from beyond.
Tarot
A deck of 78 cards used for divination, guidance, and spiritual reflection. Each card carries symbolic imagery that can provide insight into personal or universal themes.
Third Eye
The sixth chakra, located at the forehead, associated with intuition, insight, and higher consciousness.
Vibrations
The frequency of energy a person, object, or thought emits. High vibrations are associated with love, healing, and joy; low vibrations with fear, illness, or negativity.
